For you Anita
I will tell you.. its actually nice and simple. (TSS = Tunisian Simple Stitch, instructions assume you're right handed so working tunisian right to left)row 1: TSSrow 2: TSSrow 3: TSS in every stitch BAR the ones you're doing the cable from (leave 1 stitch in between at least..), assuming 1 stitch in the middle of your cable do this.pick up the bar of you stitch as if to do TSS now, yarn over twice, put hook through bar 2 rows down, 2 stitches to the left and do your trebble), tSS next, now pick up the bar as if to TSS, yarn over twice, and do a trebble through the bar of 2 rows down and 2 to the right.), tss the rest.row 4: tssrow 5: tss in each stitch bar the bits for the cable, now do a DOUBLE crochet into the trebble crochet you made with the cross shape of the row 2, always picking up the bar as if to do a tss (otherwise it makes a gap I found) and tss as before. row 6: tssrow 7: like row 2, but instead of using the bar of a TSS stitch, use the doubles you made in row 5.repeat from 4-7 until you make required.Another touch is to put a bobble in between the doubles to make a kinda eye shape

lovin your retort to the lady who said she loved the british take on "proper" wool pmsl and its made my day :0). Do the americans not get proper wool and so not no what it is??? lol
i get that but doesnt everyone know what prper wool is? lol
i guess its just one of the many words that get lost in translation. My american friends understand english "english" as theyve lived here and i forget that not everyone has lol
Beautiful Liz!! Really Beautiful!
I just LOVE the British take on things: "proper wool"
Well, rather than acrylic, its made of stuff off sheep
LOL
Love this Liz, I have some lace weight cashmere sitting in my stash, one day i iwll use it!!. It's so pretty and beautiful I want to keep it!! 100% is lovely to work with.
I saw these 2 balls of wool, lonley in a store, I paid nearly 3x what I could have if I was prepared to buy 10 of

Well, I do talk of somethings funny, especially when it comes to crochet – I often refer to my hook and yarn as stick and string :p

Well, depends, if you call a ball of yarn, a ball of wool I can understand it being confusing

A lot of my friends are american so I can convert, but sometimes it can be confusing when theres Brits and Americans both posting on what they think is the same thing but isnt
Liz, Just showed my hubby this pic. "WOW!!" he says. How do you do the cable?
