So, what to do next?

Now that ugly blanket is done, Im left with the puzzle of what to do next.

A friend is designing a blanket pattern for me, from which I will need to do 2! but, until they are done, Im at a loose end. I want to crochet but have no specific item to make. If you think of my wool stash you will be surprised to hear, my main fear is “I dont have the wool for it”.. I have some ideas but I fear I wouldnt have enough wool!

So. There we have it. Its almost perfectly square. Almost. I have ends to sew, want to go round the edge with the green I used top and bottom, and then its done. So, with any luck tomorrow evening after work, it might be done and I can start a new project.

So, heres a picture of this blanket its now 52″ long, it also seems its nearer 62″ wide, so its obviously relaxed a little. So, once I get nearer to 59″ Im gonna do another green line and make the other end of the border thing I did tat the beginning.

Im a little frustrated, the single crochet work on this is tedious, it grows very slowly. I cant claim I will be choosing to do this again in a hurry. Dont get me wrong, it is perfectly double sided, but, I am so fed up of it. Im glad I found someone to give it to when Im done, but its so slow growing its horrid.

I know Ive been a bit quiet recently, Im still doing the mosaic crochet blanket, I may have found a recipient for it which is a good thing. However.

I passed my black belt in karate

Ive worked for over 5 years for this, and Im so pleased to have done it. I have been working hard for this, so, Im sure you’ll understand I was busy perfecting than posting.

So. Usual disclaimer as the photo was taken with my phone but for scale. It is 53″ by 20″.

I also apologise for it not being rotated.. normally it works that out for me and WP cant seem to rotate an image.. sigh.

mosaic crochet continues

Well. The mosaic crochet continues. Each row is around 260 stitches and each stripe consists of 2 rows. Being done in mosaic style it is exactly the same on both sides.

So. I have mentioned I started a new piece. This is it.

In effect this is crochet ribbing. Done by back and front post double crochets (US terminology)

Its a 4mm hook and 3 ply wool. So its slow going. But its nice

So. I posted back on the 26th May I had started a baby blanket. Well. Having taken too long today I completed it.

Ive started a new baby blanket, this one is mainly going to be white, with a little blue for a little baby boy. I’d have done a picture one but when you dont know the family, a generic blanket is often nice. So, Im about 2″ in so far, I started tonight. Pictures will come

So, I got round to finishing sewing all the ends, now I can give it to its rightful owner. Shame theres no work tomorrow as well, shes at work.

Least Im done. I can do the next project now. Also, I just realised this week came up a bit fast, I meant to place my wool order so they could hopefully deliver while Im off. Not gonna happen now. Will have to work out some more use of time off later.
