Moonstone scarf day 7

I’ve folded the scarf over to get a better picture, I’m nearly half way!
Here are the crochet ravings of me, the projects I do, and items related to the site. I apologise Im not a great blogger, I have good intentions but get easily side tracked, especially by my crochet hook.

While I took time out to try a sock idea today, more work on the scarf… It is now 21 inches long!

I started this brioche sock. I am not sure I’m happy with it. I think sock wool is possibly too thin to really make a warm pair of socks.
What do you think?

I managed to do a bit more today. My tension isn’t perfect but I’m sure you can forgive me. I also hope you can see why I am raving about Lucy Neatby and her double knitting class on crafty as well as her DVD and her patterns. Crafty currently have a 75% sale on, so hurry and you can possibly get her class at an exceptionally good price although it’s most certainly worth the full price.

Sadly although I should,d have had more time this evening, it didn’t see. To turn out that way. But I did get some done almost at the end of my first variation.

I didn’t have much time today, but you can see I started on a variant of the pattern.

Day 2. Well. evening more than day. And by the time I walked dogs. Fed dogs. Fed me. There wasn’t that much of evening left. But still.
The quilting part isn’t quite right somehow I’m not ending up with the nice definition Lucy Neatby gets. Although there is a hint of it. Its also easy to remember just to do the funny stitch when you’re changing a stitch from say white to colourf that you twist it so still use the white stitch for white and coloured for coloured.
I really really really want to make a massive blanket out of this. Maybe with a slight variation for a centre piece. I’m really liking these colours too.
I’m think I need a hat and mitts to go with. As well as that massive blanket…
Will have to order more yarn from red heart 🙂 shame.

So. While I’ve dabbled with the double knittunn idea. Made a couple of swatches. Tried it on my knitting machine. This is my first actual piece.
This is the moonstone scarf as designed by the amazing Lucy Neatby.
If you haven’t run into her work yet. I strongly advise having a look. You can see her website as http://www.lucyneatby.com or see her craftsy class. She’s just launched a double knitting club which was my inspiration to start this

The back still isn’t as desired but I’m sure that’s my fault not its.
The black strippers are on their last legs. It looks like someone tried to build a house with them or something.

So. Having worked out I’m stupid at silly o’clock in the morning. Here is the first patterned bit I made. The two yarns were not equal sized but here you go.
the back isn’t quite what I imagined in that it is sort of the same bit more striped. Still doesn’t look too bad
For a first go and all.
