So. HELP!

| May 7, 2014

OK Im a quarter of the way up, therefore, if Im going to do a centre peice I need to decide on it. NOW. I have recalculated the number of diamonds, and redrawn allowing for the fact each row was 2 rows, so this is demonstrated in the latest pic   So, this is what […]

Washing the black fleece

| May 5, 2014

So, as I mentioned to a few people the colour of the washing water was “dark coffee” I don’t think they really believed me, now, the following two pictures aren’t great quality, but one shows some what I thought was cleaner sections of the fleece and some I wasn’t ready to try yet. Mainly as […]

Massive fluff!

| May 1, 2014

So, I washed some of my black fleece Monday? Weekend? Bah, seems ages back, anyway, been waiting for it to dry. I thought it was all dry, it was not… Let’s just say clearly the lump of fluff I picked put the bag was from the back end of the sheep as my washed bit […]

Getting better

| April 30, 2014

I don’t have a picture today of half my experiment which was to wash some of my black fleece before spinning it, I have been dreading this as perfectly good fluff could turn into toy stuffing or worse if you don’t get it right. Well, I think I needed a bit more work on the […]

No prizes but im proud of it

| April 23, 2014

So, my first “hank” it’s short, it’s not even, it has issues, but this was made from my first go on a spindle and my first go on a wheel, so frankly the fact it made anything is pretty much a an A* it’s about 11yds long, but hey, better than spit in your eye

And now for something completely different

| April 12, 2014

Having been away from my blanket knitting, it’s hard to get back into a routine where it’d an hour plus per row, that’s without furry interruptions, drinking tea or bio breaks.. So frankly it’s hard to do for a long period of time, and almost like any exercise when you’ve had a break from it, […]

The jumper on it’s intended victim

| April 11, 2014

So, ex hubby dropped round, so I managed to persuade him to put his jumper on and let me take a photo..MIT does look better on than flat, I should point out the neck is deliberately large and floppy looking, he doesn’t like things against his neck. I’m glad to say he says he likes […]

You spin me right round!

| April 9, 2014

So. I apologise for the hideous photos, but Meet my spinning wheel, and my first spinning on it, I did cheat and span the wheel by hand and then inched out more fluff rpt, but, small steps at a time… So.. Now I just need 80 ton of fleeces to spin….

Ripping complete

| April 8, 2014

Ripping complete! Haven’t completed the whole return row, but have at least started the right colour and got to one end… I did count religiously as I went, so there should be no stitches missing, and, to cap that life line removed!!

The great rip of 2014

| April 7, 2014

Words cannot put how crappy I’m feeling ripping back on my blanket. The quilted stitches make it much harder to rip, and here you can see how this is going, as quilting stitches only happens every other row, the non quilted row rips back tidy, but ripping back around 10,000 stitches is hard when it […]
